Our long term goal is and always will be for Haredi individuals to support themselves economically and end the need to rely on charity, thereby creating a sustainable future for them and for Israel.
The demand for scholarships and jobs in the Haredi sector can only currently be met through a partnership between government, NGOs, philanthropic foundations and individuals. Everyone can take part in helping to sponsor a scholarship for one or more students. Helping a single individual with a grant for education and employment affects his immediately family and vastly improves his outlook in life, creating a real motivation to contribute further to society at large and becoming productive citizens of Israel.
Sponsoring a grant at Kemach* is a multi-faceted opportunity in creating equal access to higher education, job access and quality employment and generally upholds the very values of democracy the country stands for.
Every scholarship grant of $2500 empowers one person to support their family and the ripple effect of this type of leadership in the Haredi communities will create true Jewish role models living a responsible Torah lifestyle.
With a $24m budget including 56% funded by the Israeli government, Kemach has until now been supported by these key founders together with a number of key foundations including the The UJIA, UJA Federation of NY, the Moshal Scholarship Programme, and the JDC. For Kemach to achieve its goal of making a meaningful and permanent change in Israeli society, we intend to bring at least 3,000 Haredi men each year into the workforce.
Whether you can sponsor a 3 year scholarship or part thereof, you are welcome to donate any amount and be a part of this inclusive movement for individual betterment and Israel’s welfare.
